Honestly, I can’t think of many sports where the stakes are this high! There are no parachutes in solo free climbing, one mistake is almost certain death yet it is a fast growing sport, what does that tell you about the human condition?
Alex Honnold is considered to be the greatest free climber to ever live, and for good reason. He somehow manages to flirt with the angel of death on a daily basis and come out on top. This is not blind luck though, it is hours of training and focus matched with him being an incredible athlete.
