My Idol Steve Mccurry - What We Seee

It’s pretty obvious that I love photography in all its forms, but if I had to pick one photographer above all others without any hesitation it would be Steve Mccurry. There are many many great fashion photographers and photojournalists but @stevemccurryofficial takes the art to another plane, he captures the human condition in all its highs and desperate lows, somehow each image of his holds your attention that much more than anyone else. His body of work is vast and at such a high level that it’s almost overwhelming. I am thankful to have discovered him many years ago and I beg you to do the same. Here is a small selection of some of his work:

Women in a “laughing club” in Mumbai. Called “Laughter Yoga”, the practice is based on the belief that voluntary laughter gives the same psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter. Done in groups, the forced laughter soon becomes real and contagious. My new book, India, is now available through Phaidon Press Limited.

This young woman lives and works on a coffee plantation in Vietnam, the world’s second largest exporter of coffee. About 2.6 million people work in the industry. Most of the beans are grown on half a million small farms of three acres or less. #vietnam #coffee
