DAP is a classically trained pianist and producer/rapper. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and coming from an entirely musical family, he started playing the piano aged 4 and passed his ABRSM Grade 8 Piano with distinction aged 13, and went on to attain a DipABRSM Performance Diploma on the Piano aged 17. On December 29th 2011 he released his first mixtape, self-produced and self-written titled Unconscious. After high school in London, UK, he attended the Berklee College of Music for two semesters as part of a gap year with the intention of majoring in Contemporary Writing & Production or Music Production & Engineering, and on his departure after the summer released another mixtape titled GoodBye For Now. He now attends Brown University in Providence Rhode Island where he hoping to major in Classics & Music. He has performed at Aurora Providence, RI, AS220 Providence, RI, Aurora Providence, RI, Brown University, Harbor Point, Lagos Nigeria, and Eko Hotel with Bez Idakula, a well known artist (guitarist/singer) in Nigeria. He released his fourth mixtape GoodBye For Never, a sequel to GoodBye For Now, on October 27th, 2014, which the Source magazine labeled “the best mixtape of 2014”. In late December 2014, he put out a joint project entitled Jam On Scones with Shane Chubbz under their duo moniker The Contract, for which they had a release show on November 29th 2014 in London at the Saatchi Gallery. He recently recorded at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London after being selected for a competition produced by Converse.
