Cincinnati Bengals promote Devon Still, practice squad player whose daughter is battling cancer, to active roster

The promotion will increase Still’s practice squad salary of $100,000 to at least $405,000 per season – the NFL minimum for active roster players. While Still was already covered by the Bengals’ medical insurance as a practice squad player, he recently told ESPN that his daughter’s medical bills could reach $1 million.

Devon Still, the Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle who was given a spot on the practice squad to help pay for his daughter’s cancer treatment, has been added to the team’s active roster.

The promotion will increase Still’s practice squad salary of $100,000 to at least $405,000 per season – the NFL minimum for active roster players.

While Still was already covered by the Bengals’ medical insurance as a practice squad player, he recently told ESPN that his daughter’s medical bills could reach $1 million.

Still’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, announced the news Tuesday night on his Twitter account.

Devon Still holds 4-year-old daughter Leah, who has been battling stage 4 pediatric cancer since June and recently completed her fourth round of chemotherapy. Her chances of survival are 50/50.
