A Finnish civilian, injured during a Soviet air aid on Helsinki, salutes as he is ushered to an ambulance by another civilian and a Finnish policeman. Helsinki was bombed 39 times during the Finnish-Soviet Continuation War. 245 people were killed and 646 wounded, the majority in the three largest raids of 1944.
