A Soldier Receives A Haircut During The Battle Of Belgorod

There are few quiet images of war — and certainly, not many that are as domestic as this. But, obviously, there is far more to war than just the fighting itself. Here you can see a German Wehrmacht soldier having his hair cut during the Battle of Belgorod.

During a momentary break from hostilities, another soldier helped him clean himself up. The battle was a combat operation and part of Operation Polkovodets Rumyantsev by the Soviets against the Germans. Following the Soviet victory at the Battle of Kursk, they attempted to capitalize on their gains.
