The Mahogany Session For “Hard To Love” By Hamzaa Is Pure Bliss

With a voice this pure and a talent this huge, the Mahogany session recording for “Hard To Love” from Hamzaa is almost a religious experience. The young artist exploded onto the music scene and, in just a short time, has made a name for herself by holding her own with some of the biggest performers out there.

Though it may seem as though she came out of nowhere, this talent has been bubbling away for a long time. Her creativity has been brimming over since childhood.

“Weekends I was at little kiddy dance sessions, Stagecoach,” she told Vice. “I got piano lessons from the age of four. I was really bad at learning because I would learn the music by ear and then pretend I was reading from the sheet music. I would always get in trouble so I just started writing songs from the age of six.”

And in this performance, featuring the incredible acoustics of a church filled with just her voice and a piano, you can see that talent come to fruition. You can see the whole performance here:

Hamzaa is a special performer and Hard To Love is exactly the right painfully honest, bittersweet song to showcase her talents. Expect to see a lot more of her.
