While many of us are aware of the stunning beauty and overwhelmingly vast landscapes of Alaska, very few of us have seen it firsthand. But Tim Kellner was determined to make the journey — and he was determined for a very particular reason. “When I was a kid I would stare up at the giant stuffed grizzly bear in the Buffalo Science Museum and imagine seeing it alive and in the wild,” he explained. “That dream finally came true. I can’t even begin to describe with words my experiences in Alaska so hopefully, this video will capture just a small piece.”
Most of us aren’t driven to go on an epic adventure because of a stuffed bear in a museum, but the power of a child’s imagination knows no bounds. And, in this case, it translated into a very real determination. Kellner not only went to see them in the wild, he captured epic images of the Alaskan landscape and put it together in one stunning video. You can see the whole thing here:
The untouched splendor that you can see in this film is foreign to so many of us who live in more urban or even suburban spaces. This is nature on its own terms — and it’s incredible.
