There is so much to follow when it comes to Game of Thrones, not the least of which is a total labyrinth of story lines. I spend most episodes trying to remember what’s happening with each character, before eventually saying, “Oh right!” while calling them by names like “Face Man” and “Hot Witch”. With so much to keep track of, it can be easy to overlook one of the most important parts of the show. The visuals are un-effing-believable. They are downright stunning. But this video from The Solomon Society splices together some of the most gorgeous scenes from the show so far— and it’s really worth a watch.

Apparently they were guided in part by a Film School Rejects post that highlighted their picks for Game of Thrones’ most beautiful scenes. “Without question, there are few movies, let alone television shows, that can compete on the level of Game of Thrones,” the post explained.” This includes everything from the complexity of story to resources to visuals. For HBO, Thrones is a show worthy of an almost infinite line of production credit. Because it’s also the network’s biggest cash cow. The good news for fans — especially those who followed the story of Westeros from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series — is that almost every penny spent on Thrones can be seen, heard, and felt on-screen.”

One of the best parts about the video is that, because it’s set to instrumental music with all of the dialogue removed, you’re actually focused on the visual. That’s something that doesn’t normally happen in such a fast-paced, character-driven show. You can see the whole thing here:

Focusing on just the visuals shows the scenes in a whole new light. I’ll definitely be paying more attention to the small details in the next episode.
