Watching families flee, babies in arms, shows the displacement of war. Here you see Filipino civilians fleeing a combat area in Bacolod. US Troops, in search of the Japanese, were pushing forward and families left searching for safety. The juxtaposition of soldiers and bare-footed children is a hard one to ignore, a reminder of the real people that live in areas later devoured by warfare. The city was finally liberated on May 29th, 1945.
