I mean… there are hobbies and then there are hobbies. If you ever thought you were a natural with Legos or showed off some skills with a model airplane, prepare to be put very much in your place. This man made a full size Tie Fighter/Silencer and he built the thing with his own hands. And, you know, tools. Not only that, all of the materials were sourced from eBay, giving this a truly (larger than life) DIY feel. It takes Star Wars fandom to a whole new level.

“What an epic project this has been, 46 feet long 23 feet wide and 14f feet high and the full steel construction looks as menacing as it does in the film,” the video explains. “This was an eBay project so everything was sourced from their site to bring this monster together, and to complete the ship James Bruton has made a FULLY WORKING BB-9E so this is just a Star Wars feast and you can come SEE IT YOURSELF.”

That’s right— the thing is almost 50 feet long. And there’s a reason that this video has nearly two million views. Not only is it just an amazing feat, not only is it Star Wars-related, but seeing the enthusiasm he has for the project and pure joy he experiences is infectious. This is unadulterated happiness. And if you think that he’s happy, wait to until you see the looks on the faces of the children who stumble on a full size Tie Fighter/Silencer just sitting in the park. You have to see these little Star Wars fans explode with excitement. You can check out the video here:

This isn’t his first huge Star-Wars construction project and, hopefully, it won’t be his last. They just keep getting bigger and better. And the next time you think of yourself as the ultimate Star Wars fan, remember this video and this man who went bigger than big.
