Holly Holm

1. She’s known as The Preacher’s Daughter

It’s true. Her father is Roger Holm, a preacher at the Edgewood Church of Christ in New Mexico. The preacher told KOAT that Holm didn’t want to be called “Holly Hottie,” as some suggested.

“She said, ‘I don’t want to be known for that.’ I said, ‘You’re a preacher’s daughter,’ and she said, ‘That’s it!’ ” Roger recalled.

2. She’s a former boxing champion and undefeated in mixed martial arts

The 34-year-old boasts a 33-win boxing career (including nine knockouts) and only two losses, Time reports.

She entered the MMA field in 2011 and is undefeated. Seven out of her 10 fights were knockouts.

3. Jon Jones thinks she’s the G.O.A.T. (the Greatest Of All Time)

Just hours after Holm’s victory, former UFC light Heavyweight champion Jones took to Instagram to praise the fighter for her accomplishments both in and out of the octagon.

“In my opinion @_hollyholm is already the G.O.A.T. of women’s combat sports,” the MMA fighter wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption. “Her accolades are absolutely unheard of, but that’s not what makes me such a fan of Holly. It’s the way she carries herself outside of the bright lights and the arenas.”

4. She thinks Rousey deserves a rematch

“I’ve been on the losing side of a fight and I wanted the rematch, I wanted to avenge my loss,” Holm said during interviews after Sunday’s fight, Yahoo reports.

“With a champion like Ronda – who has gone out of her way, above and beyond, to do great things – absolutely she deserves a rematch.”

UFC president Dana White also supported the rematch. UFC 200 is set for July 2016.

5. Holm had a quiet celebration after the big fight

Holm didn’t celebrate her new UFC champion status the way you’d expect. She, her family and close friends found a quiet bar and shared a few drinks, Holm told Yahoo Sports.

“I’m not much for the big, huge noisy clubs,” she said.

The 34-year-old told Yahoo that she and her crew had a few beers, munched on nachos and fries, and talked about her journey
